Over/Next – Making life count after a big loss

Life often throws us devastating challenges – a personal tsunami that leaves us stranded between the life we knew and the unknown future ahead. Over/Next is a powerful, insightful guide for anyone navigating the overwhelming waves of loss, trauma, and life-altering hardships. Written by seasoned counselor and author David Field, this book serves as a roadmap for those who find themselves grappling with the weight of grief, loss of a loved one, or the aftermath of a personal crisis.

Field draws upon both his professional experience and deeply personal story to offer practical, compassionate advice on how to not just survive but thrive after facing life’s most difficult moments. Having experienced the loss of his wife of 52 years, David knows firsthand the emotional toll that comes with such profound grief. He encourages readers to “move forward after a life tsunami,” and through self-reflection, begin to find “purpose beyond the pain.”

This book is more than just a story of resilience – it’s a blueprint for building resilience after trauma. It offers readers key tools for self-reflection after loss, helping them confront the emotional stagnation that often follows major life changes. Whether dealing with the death of a loved one, a career setback, or other personal losses, David Field emphasizes the importance of facing grief head-on and embracing a process of rebuilding life after significant hardship.
